The difference between the two swimmer pictures is that one uses GIF and the other uses JPEG. In the GIF picture it has lossless compresion and the file size is alot smaller but the quality of the picture wasnt lost. In the JPEG picture it has lossy compression and some of the quality looks kind of degraded.

They used compression. And image#1 is in Mbytes and Images#2 is in Kbytes. They Just Zoomed In on The images

it shows how the picture was from 1:2 to 11 , so basically it was zoom .

the pic has been zoomed in and made a lil bigger and a lilttle blury

the original image was compressed when it was resaved! also the original images quality was alot better than the resaved image.
